Shipping Methods - Unicast, Broadcast, Multicast and Anycast

Shipping Methods - Unicast, Broadcast, Multicast and Anycast
Data delivery on IP addresses is generally 1 packet delivery, this is called Unicast. A unicast connection is a one-to-one connection between one sender address and 1 recipient address.

For receivers with a number of more than 1, there are several ways of delivery that is broadcast, multicast, and anycast. Can be seen on

Broadcast
Delivery of data with the aim of all addresses that are in 1 network, this mode of data transmission is called Broadcast. Applications that use this method will send to a broadcast address. Example 192.168.0.255, remove data to this address then all hosts that are in the network will receive data.

Multicast
Data delivery with the purpose of group address in 1 network, this data transmission mode is called Multicast. This address uses class D, so some hosts will be registered using this class D address. If any sender sending data to this class D address will be forwarded to hosts that are registered in this class D IP.

Anycast
If a service uses several different IP addresses, the sender sending data to that service will be forwarded to one of those IP addresses, this delivery mode is called Anycast. Example: If there are 5 servers with the same FTP app, then there is another FTP access service that will be routed to one of 5 servers.
